A recent report by Fox News, “For first time, odds of dying from opioid overdose higher than dying from car crash” noted that a new analysis from the National Safety Council says the odds of dying by an accidental opioid overdose (1 in 96) have now surpassed the odds of dying in a car accident (1 in 103). Nearly 200 people are succumbing to overdose every day in the United States right now, with some areas of the country seeing hundreds of calls daily for heroin overdose.

Dr. Cali Estes and The Addictions Academy have been offering a wide-ranging assortment of advanced training for years in an on-going effort to counteract the growing addiction problem. How do I help my Addicted child?

How do I help my Addicted child?

Every loving parent may have to find themselves asking, “How do I help my addicted child?” This is a situation we would never want to be in but it is a situation that rears its ugly head way too often. First of all, we have to make sure we are transparent with everything and that we don’t just stick our heads in the sand and pretend everything is just peachy. Once we verify and establish that there is an addiction we need to get to the bottom of “why” our child is turning to drugs and/or alcohol. Some of us parents find that our kids are suffering from low self-esteem and low self-confidence which is caused, in turn, by not having the skills and tools to be a productive member of society. Feelings of inadequacy and feelings of not producing in society are one of the leading causes of young adults turning to drugs and alcohol.

Dr. Cali Estes and her team have created a unique 30 to 45 day aftercare intensive program that runs 9 to 15 hours per week to help our addicted children, LaunchPad can be a 45 day program or a 30 day XPress program that covers 5 distinct phases of life skills that are imperative to a child  creating a healthy lifestyle. These 5 Phases are implemented with our certified, credentialed staff over the course of our program and we are with you every step of the way.  Not only do we handle the addicted child but we involve you, the family as well. It is imperative that the family knows how to help the person and what to do and not to do in certain situations.

Our LaunchPad program has zero group therapy and is customized to the client. Dr. Cali Estes and her team get to the root cause of the ambivalence and the ‘stuck points’ to assist their clients in moving forward with their lives in a productive, happy and excited manner.  Creating a fun life that has meaning is the goal. We understand that drugs and alcohol are not the problems, it is the solution to your addicted child’s problems, We get to the root cause of the issues, solve them and help your addicted child become a happy, healthy productive member of society.  From creating a positive peer group, to understanding addiction, getting a job and moving forward, we can assist.

It is not just about the ability to create a life for themselves, but the ability to create a life that has meaning, joy and fulfillment. Dr. Estes and her certified and trained team instill self-empowerment to their clients, which inevitably leads them towards goal achievement.  Launchpad is the new solution.

How can I help my drug addicted child?

How can I help my drug addicted child?

This seems to be another million dollar question! Those of us with children know the pain associated with having a child addicted to drugs and/or alcohol or even worse, having a child die from a drug overdose. So we ask emphatically, what can we do to help our drug addicted children. First and foremost we can listen to them and the signs that they are giving us. Our kids are individuals with individual hopes, dreams and aspirations, but with those hopes and dreams also come with individual problems, issues and hurdles. We may not always see eye to eye with our kids but we always need to listen to them and hear what they say. The reason I say this is because people abuse drugs for different reasons and there is no exception here when it comes to our children. So to be able to listen to our kids and hear what they are telling us during times of need and during the early stages in the cycle of addiction could play a major positive roll in our kid’s recovery process.

In our youth and in our kids early years self-esteem is very important and self-esteem can play a major role in whether or not our kids have the mental make up to stay away from drugs and/or alcohol or whether our kids have the tools to pick themselves up IF they were to get caught up in the crazy world of addiction. The Addictions Coach has a new program called LAUNCH PAD which focuses on young adults who seem to be stuck in “no man’s land” between childhood and productive adulthood. LAUNCH PAD is a program that gives young adults the skills to get off the couch and get into society’s workforce or get into some type of education program to gain the skills and knowledge to become a productive member of society. This, in turn, gives the young adult extreme confidence to continue the fight of his or her life if he or she has become addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. It all starts with confidence and The Addiction Coach and its LAUNCH PAD Program are here for you to take full advantage on! Go to our website at or call 1-800-706-0318 to get all the information you need to get started fixing yourself and creating you clean and sober future! Also, click on our testimonial page and watch the hundreds of ex-clients and ex-students testify as to how The Addictions Coach and its programs changed their lives for the better!!

What is an Alternative to Drug treatment?

What is an Alternative to Drug treatment?

Is your world closing in on you from the cycle of addiction? Have you finally realized that you cannot go on living this insane lifestyle? It looks like it’s time to pay the piper and clean your life up and do away with this destructive lifestyle fueled by addiction. So what is stopping you from making the best decision of your life? I can answer that for you if you give me a moment of your time. What usually stops and actively using drug addict from reaching out for help and stopping the mad distractive cycle of drug addiction is the fear of losing everything in the process. People fear that if they check into a residential drug rehabilitation facility they will lose their job, the roof over their head and, quite possibly, their loved ones. And let me tell you that that fear is real because employers are not holding jobs for their employees for 60 days or 90 days of residential drug treatment. The electric company is not going to keep your lights on while you complete drug rehabilitation. And I am right there with you, who is going to put food in your children’s stomachs while you are 90 days deep into a residential rehabilitation program?

What if I told you there is a way to keep your job, keep the lights on and keep your finances in order so that your loved ones that you are responsible for can continue to eat while you seek help. Let me turn you on to sober coaching and Sober on Demand. First of all, sober coaching is quickly becoming the treatment path of choice for recovering drug addicts. The success rate for recovering addicts who have used sober coaches is far better than those who don’t. Sober coaches come to you, in your location, instead of you throwing your hands in the air and checking in to a drug rehabilitation program. After a careful evaluation, you would be paired with the perfect top certified sober coach. From that point on the certified sober coach will accompany you to job functions, social functions and family functions all the while teaching you spur of the moment and hands-on skills to produce at the best of your ability while becoming clean and sober and staying clean and sober. A sober coach can work with you through Skype a few hours a day or through 24/7 live in treatment where the sober coach never leaves your side for a certain period of time.

This all depends on the results of your evaluation. There is also SOBER ON DEMAND which is a great alternative to traditional drug and alcohol treatment. We can do in 5-8 hours what a drug and alcohol inpatient facility can do in 30 days. Sound different? It is and it works. Sober on Demand Coaches go on movie sets, cruises, sporting events, music tours and much more! At The Addictions Coach Top Recovery Coaches and Life Coaching for Drug and Alcohol Addiction 1 -800-706-0318 we offer both certified sober coaches and Sober On Demand So call us today to get information on all of our programs that we have to offer. How do I find a sober companion?

How do I find a sober companion?

We are well aware that sober companions and the art of sober companionship is new in the addictions industry and recovery community, so it might be confusing for you on how to find the right certified sober companion. The way that The Addictions Coach works when it comes to certified sober companions is that once you, the struggling addict, decides for yourself that you want to hire a sober companion, you would then set up an evaluation session with Dr. Cali Estes and The Addictions Coach to pair you with the perfect nationally certified sober companion.

The Addictions Coach would match you with a pool of certified sober companions that pair nicely with your own strengths, hobbies, career path, spiritual likeness and lifestyle to name a few. From this pool of certified sober companions, you, the struggling addict, would then choose the sober companion that you feel the most comfortable with to begin your daily journey to sobriety.

Not every recovery based program offers sober companion programs so you would have to find a sober companion program by searching online. Most companies have only a few to choose from, usually only one in each city. So you just get dumped with the staff they have that is closest to you. We actually take the time to give you a full clinical assessment and determine who works best with you.

The Addictions Coach, based in Miami, has the largest and most successful; sober companion program in the industry and the success rates are phenomenal with The Addictions Coach. We take the “matching” process very serious and our success rates reflect this. So my advice to you on how to find a sober companion would be to contact The Addictions Coach at  or call them at 1-800-706-0318 to set up your evaluation to be paired with your perfect sober companion today.

Also take a few moments and head over to our testimonial page to watch the hundreds of testimonial videos of those who have used The Addictions Coach and their nationally certified sober companions to change their lives for the better!

What is the difference between a sponsor and a recovery coach?

What is the difference between a sponsor and a recovery coach?

Let’s start with what the two have in common. A sponsor is usually part of a twelve step recovery based program and the concept is that the sponsor is there for the recovering addict in the “tough” times and the times when relapse is a strong possibility. This is also true for the recovery coach. However, the recovery coach is way more involved in the struggling addict’s day to day structure and livelihood. The concept of the twelve step sponsor was basically for there to be someone on the other end of the phone in stressful times and times when relapse is on the mind of the struggling addict. The sponsor is there to help you work through your steps and attempt to remain clean and sober.

Now for what a recovery coach does.

The recovery coach is usually right there with the struggling addict walking through the tough times with them. Recovery coaches entrench themselves in the struggling addict’s life, hobbies, strengths, weaknesses, spirituality and careers to give them the skills, tools and knowledge to get through each day. One of the biggest differences in recovery coaches and sponsors is the accountability level is much higher with the coach being right there with you. Plus once you hire a professional, you get professional level services. A sponsor is a peer and a free service. Sometimes it is damaged people helping damaged people, this will only get you so far. You will need to hire a professional.

Although the traditional twelve step sponsor works for some, the modern recovery coach is seeing much higher success rates in the recovery community. At The Addictions Coach we have the most successful nationally certified recovery coach program in the industry today. Our success rates are unmatched throughout the addictions industry and more and more struggling addicts are getting clean and sober and staying clean and sober by using our recovery coaching programs. We tailor the program specifically to the client and walk hand in hand towards a new life of sobriety.
